Frequently Asked Questions
When will your family be in Finland?
Our deputation is scheduled to last two years (ending in May 2010).
However, we are praying that it is much shorter than that!
How do I learn more about AIM?
Visit www.fmdaim.org
How does one become an AIM?
First, pray. Seek God's direction for your
future. Second, speak to your pastor. Because your pastor knows you
best, and prays for you, he will be able to guide you through the
process. His guidance and approval is necessary to ensure that you find
success in following God's will.
After pastor approval, while communicating with us
along the way, begin the application process by visiting
www.fmdaim.org
and download the Associates in Missions application (or, you can write
to fmdaim@upci.org if you do not
have a printer, and they will send you an application in the
mail). Just follow the directions
contained within your packet; the approval process usually takes up to 2
months.
Once you are approved, begin raising your money!
How long is an AIM term?
The shortest is 2 months and the longest is 12 (with extensions
available upon request).
How much money would I need to raise for a term in Finland?
We are in the process of working with
the AIM department to determine costs; stay in contact with us
about this!
How do you plan to reach the country?
We are dividing the country into regions by population (read more about
this plan by visiting our
vision for Finland webpage, or contact us via email
for more information). Our goal is to have (12) AIM working alongside
our family each year (culminating in 3 to 4 teams of 12 members, or
couples, per year).
